W dniach 05-07 czerwca 2009 r. odbyła się konferencja zamykającą ogólnopolską debatę „Model funkcjonowania studiów doktoranckich. Dobre praktyki na studiach doktoranckich.” Konferencja została zorganizowana przez Warszawskie Porozumienie Doktorantów oraz Krajowa Reprezentacja Doktorantów, pod Honorowym Patronatem Minister Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego Prof. Barbara Kudrycka oraz Prezydent Warszawy Prof. Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz.
W konferencji uczestniczyli przedstawiciele 27 polskich uczelni wyższych oraz jednostek naukowych. Specjalnymi gośćmi byli reprezentanci EURODOC z Cypru i Holandii.
Podstawowym celem konferencji była wymiana doświadczeń dotyczących funkcjonowania studiów w poszczególnych grupach uczelni; zebranie ciekawych rozwiązań funkcjonujących na uczelniach uwzględniających specyfikę studiów na każdej z nich.
W wyniku prac konferencyjnych powstał zbiór postulatów łączący poszczególne dobre praktyki mające miejsce na różnych uczelniach. Zostaną one przedstawione Radzie Głównej Szkolnictwa Wyższego. Zawarte będą również w pokonferencyjnej publikacji, w której będą także referaty uczestników konferencji.
